Ties for medals at the Olympics[edit]
A tie would occur when 2 or more individual or teams achieved identical results in the Olympics. In these cases, there will be multiple winners with the same medal.
Ties occasionally occurs during the games and since medals are complicated to produce, the Olympic organising committee makes advance arrangements for extra medals to be produced in the event of a tie.[1][2]
